VIVOTEK, a global provider of IP surveillance solutions, has introduced VORTEX, its cloud-based security service, showcasing a commitment to a more intelligent and user-friendly approach.
VIVOTEK’s product
VORTEX Connect, the latest addition, has been seamlessly integrated into VIVOTEK’s latest generation network video recorders (NVRs).
The integration allows users to connect to NVRs while simultaneously making use of VORTEX cloud services in an intuitive manner.
This enables users to transition to the cloud without the need to replace existing network cameras, addressing security needs across devices and locations.
According to the company, VORTEX provides capabilities such as high-resolution imaging, advanced AI analysis and remote management, supporting businesses in the transition to operational cloud solutions and expansion in the North American market.
Growth in revenue for video surveillance
According to a video surveillance report from 2023, there has been a 22% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in global revenue for cloud software-based services over the past five years.
The report also estimates a remarkable over 28% growth in revenue for video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) in 2023, indicating substantial market potential for cloud-based security solutions.
In preparation for market opportunities, VIVOTEK plans to launch VORTEX Connect PRO, which will substantially increase the device connection limit.
This improvement allows for the allocation of up to 1,000 users, granting individual privacy access and permissions for camera group assignments.
Users can easily adjust settings, improving resource allocation efficiency and management flexibility.
The system ensures secure archiving and backup of important event segments in the cloud, reducing risks associated with hard drive failures, insufficient recording space or overwriting.
Additionally, it enables seamless firmware updates, minimising user maintenance time and enhancing overall management capabilities.
The NVR series
VORTEX Connect seamlessly integrates with VIVOTEK’s latest NVR series, offering models such as ND9326P, ND9426P, ND9542P and ND9442P.
These NVRs provide both power and network transmission, eliminating the need for Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches.
Equipped with built-in TrendMicro antivirus software for enhanced security, they support the connection of over 30,000 ONVIF Profile S network cameras, addressing challenges related to complex network configurations.
The company‘s new feature optimises cost structures, contributing to improved user convenience and usability.
