LEGIC Identsystems has announced that LUMEN ID, a provider of wireless Internet of Things (IoT) based access control solutions from Northern Ireland, has joined the LEGIC global partner program.
LUMEN ID has designed the innovative in•Touch access control reader to cost-effectively offer customers a high level of access control and cyber-resilience using Wi-Fi and Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP).
LEGIC and Lumen ID: Seamlessly operates
Based on LEGIC’s SM-6300 Security Module, which seamlessly operates with LEGIC’s smartcard and mobile credentialing platforms, the in•Touch reader can be provided as a standalone access control solution or be integrated with third-party manufacturer systems and readers using the in•Touch OEM reader module.
George Redpath, Director, Lumen ID stated: “We are delighted to be working with industry professionals such as LEGIC who share in our ethos of finding the right partners and developing the right access control products that not only take advantage of Wi-Fi, NFC and today’s IoT devices and protocols, but that also offer the highest level of cybersecurity resilience to meet the most demanding of security requirements
“We look forward to working with LEGIC and other collaborative partners within their approved network.”
Smart key management
It supports the latest access control technologies such as LEGIC Bluetooth credentials, Apple and Google Wallet mobile credentials, NFC (13.56 MHz) and ultra-wideband as well as physical credential technologies such as MIFARE DESFire EV1, EV2, EV3 and MIFARE Classic.
According to the companies, 125 KHz proximity is also supported, along with legacy Wiegand technology to ensure that no customer is left behind when planning their security upgrade paths.
LUMEN ID prioritised security by design and smart key management which played a significant role in the development of the in•Touch reader and module.
The reader self-initiates all connections to the internet and vitally ensures that unrequested connections are rejected.

“Since we work closely with our partners, we reflect a lot on how we can inspire successful teamwork, cooperation and innovation.
