Mission 500, a charitable non-profit organisation engaging security professionals to assist families in crisis across the USA, has announced the winners of its annual Humanitarian and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) awards. This year’s recipients are George Fletcher, President of DMF Consulting and ADT, respectively.

“Every year Mission 500 recognises an individual and corporate entity for its outstanding contributions towards the betterment of society and mankind,” said Ken Gould, Chairman of the Board, Mission 500. “The efforts of this year’s award recipients, George Fletcher and ADT, have touched the lives of so many people not only over the course of 2019, but for many years prior and we extend our sincerest gratitude, appreciation and respect for their outstanding achievements.”

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award

ADT is a provider of security, automation and smart home solutions serving consumer and business customers via more than 300 locations, nine monitoring centres and the largest network of security professionals in the United States. ADT helps protect customers with a wide range of professionally installed, do it yourself and digital-based offerings.

With a dedicated Week of Service and many events throughout the course of the year including Seasons of Service events around the holidays, ADT provides numerous opportunities for its employees to participate in community service. During the 2019 Week of Service, thousands of ADT employees and their families donated over 22,000 volunteer hours, impacting nearly 200 communities nationwide. In 2019, the company presented LifeSaver awards to 46 ADT employees who helped rescue customers from near-death experiences involving fires, carbon monoxide poisoning and other emergencies in the home. ADT also awarded US$105,000 in grants in 2019 to more than a dozen police and fire departments that were involved in these events.

At ADT’s Corporate Headquarters in Boca Raton, FL, employees assembled 1,000 Care Kits for veterans and donated over 15,000 pounds of food as part of a food drive in November. Also, in 2019, ADT contributed US$40,000 to the National Volunteer Fire Council and several volunteer departments to raise awareness and recruit more volunteer firefighters across America.

“Congratulations to the entire ADT family for their outstanding efforts and achievements by helping to improve the lives of so many and instilling hope for the future,” said Gould.

Humanitarian Award

George Fletcher conceived the creation of Mission 500 over ten years ago with the goal of sponsoring 500 children through the World Vision charity. Since its humble inception, Mission 500 continued to gain traction as the professional security industry’s charity of choice and became an official 501c3 charity in 2016. Over the years, Mission 500 has provided 40,000 meals to families in need, assembled and distributed care packs filled with essential hygiene items for 3,700 families and distributed more than 11,500 book bags filled with school supplies for children attending Title One schools. Throughout this entire journey, George has been the guiding force behind Mission 500 and a model leader for all involved in Mission 500 and the entire security industry.

“Without George’s vision, drive and unwavering enthusiasm, Mission 500 would not exist and have thrived over the years and we are forever indebted to him,” continued Gould.
