Tavcom Training – the provider of accredited security systems training courses and part of the Linx International Group – has announced the addition of a two-day intruder alarm course to its extensive online learning platform. The traditionally classroom-taught Intruder Alarm Legislation course is now available for online study, with the option of an accredited (BTEC Level 3) or non-accredited certificate, as well as formal CPD points available.

Like it’s classroom counterpart, the online Intruder Alarm Legislation BTEC Level 3 course is open to all technical professionals who wish to gain the confidence and ability to work within the range of law governing the intruder alarm industry. It is designed for those who are involved with the design, installation, ownership, policing and monitoring of electronic intruder alarm systems, providing key knowledge across a range of core content, including:

  • Security risk assessments

  • Gathering necessary information

  • Insurers’ requirements

  • Grading of intruder alarms

  • System proposal procedures

  • Siting and locating system components

  • Requirements for Police response

  • Signalling requirements

  • British, European and international standards

  • Confirmation and dual path signalling

Andrew Saywell, Business Development Manager for Tavcom Training says: “Our Intruder Alarm Legislation classroom course has been a key program in our technical training portfolio for some time and is popular amongst our engineers. Over the last 18 months we’ve had to create new ways to deliver cornerstone courses to learners all around the world in a way that is universally accessible and affordable. To that end, we are proud to expand our online training portfolio once again with this great course. Not only is it important to keep pace with the legal parameter of intruder alarm legislation, but it is also essential to have an up-to-date working knowledge of codes of practice and intruder alarm grading.” Andrew adds: “Tavcom Training has earned a reputation for high value teaching across its various platforms, without compromise on quality. We’re incredibly proud of our latest e-learning course and expect the new Intruder Alarm Legislation online course to be as popular as ever.”

Led by a subject expert tutor, the course is delivered in 30 hours via Tavcom Training’s bespoke online learning platform which combines presentations, video and audio, to deliver an engaging, rewarding and productive learning experience no matter where you are in the world. Upon course completion learners will have their training recognised with a BTEC Level 3 Certificate (if opting for the accredited route) or an internationally recognised Tavcom Certificate if they choose the non-accredited route and 3 formal CPD points.

These courses can also be completed at Tavcom Training’s state-of-the-art training centre in Bishop’s Waltham, Hampshire or live via ZOOM for virtual classroom training. Classroom, virtual and online courses are available to book now at: www.tavcom.com
