Sepura awarded Department of Health and Social Care contract

As part of its modernisation plans, the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care’s Ambulance Radio Programme has awarded Sepura with a contract to deliver next generation handheld mission critical communication devices to frontline paramedics.

According to Sepura, the contract covers the supply of the new SCL3 broadband hand-portable device to Ambulance Services across England.

The SCL3 hand-portable device will maintain communications on the existing Airwave TETRA network.

It will also encompass the benefits of broadband data and a migration path to ESN.
