SCANNA has announced that its Scan X scout Portable X-ray Systems have been used as part of the security arrangements for the recent 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

The Scan X scout is a versatile portable x-ray system which can be used to detect concealed weapons, explosives and other hidden threats. SCANNA has supplied the Japanese Government with a large number of the Scan X scout systems. In the context of Major Event Security the Scan X scout can be used to carry out vehicle and venue searches as well as the investigation of unattended and suspicious items. The Scan X Scout is a popular solution for security tasks as the thin flexible plates can be deployed quickly into difficult to access areas allowing a high-definition X-ray image to be created in seconds.

SCANNA Sales and Marketing Director, Paul Taylor comments: “The security of high-profile major events is important and we are therefore delighted to be able to support the Japanese authorities in this way. It is a great honour to be associated with prestigious events such as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics which have been a resounding success and enjoyed by millions around the world. All credit to the organisers for making the events a great success in such difficult circumstances.”

SCANNA’s portable X-ray systems provide a safe and effective method for the investigation of suspect packages, IED’s, Forensic search and Special Operations. SCANNA has supplied thousands of portable-ray systems to help protect lives and safeguard citizens throughout the world.

SCANNA has production facilities in the UK and USA and specialises in the production of threat screening and detection systems.
