International Security Journal caught up with Nick Pegtol CPP PSP, Director of Sales – Channel Business Europe & APAC, acre security at ASIS Europe – From Risk to Resilience in Vienna, Austria.

Can you tell us more about your new access control launch please?

Yes, of course. As you may know, acre security – up until today – has consisted of various systems and devices as a result of the acquisitions the company has made since its inception.

In the past year, and from 2024 onwards, we are unifying those systems together.

We’re moving forward with one single system, Acre Access Control.

The solution empowers organizations with flexibility and paves the quickest, most user friendly path to cloud adoption.

At the heart of Acre Security Access Control lies a dedication to intelligent functionality, flexibility and the freedom to choose the best deployment option.

Organisations are no longer constrained to select between on-premises or cloud-based systems as Acre Access Control can be deployed in either a native cloud or local on-premises environment.

Acre Access Control is designed for broad compatibility, supporting Windows, MAC OS, iOS, Android and all modern web browsers, and ensures a consistent user experience across any infrastructure choice.

It boasts an easy to navigate UI, customisable dashboards, and personalized filters to enhance the user experience.

And, it’s not just this aspect that is new.

Acre Access Control, alongside the Acre Smart Controller four door panel, redefines and enhances traditional access control systems, transforming them from basic necessities to enriched, feature-laden experiences.

How important is it for you to be able to provide a variety of approaches when it comes to deployment and use?

Very important. Of course, we are 100% committed to the cloud and a cloud-based approach to security. This is where the market is going.

However, we’re not going to see a complete switch today or tomorrow, so we also offer an on-premises version of our solution to provide businesses with the flexibility to migrate to the cloud at any time.

As a result, data will be hosted at the customer sites as with any other on-premises system, but it will have a link with our hosted cloud service.

The system will be updated like a cloud system, with regular, seamless updates.
