i-PRO has completed a project with the Murietta Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) in Riverside County, CA, US.
MVUSD has modernised its legacy surveillance system with the company’s high resolution network cameras and i-PRO Video Insight VMS.
School district security enhancements
MVUSD serves 23,000 students and has nearly 4,000 employees.
According to i-PRO, the school district is comprised of 11 elementary schools, four middle schools and three comprehensive high schools.
Moreover, it is made up of two alternative high schools, one virtual, independent and homeschool academy and one adult transition school.
MVUSD conducted extensive research and formed a stakeholder team before opting to standardise its camera system with i-PROs solutions.
The MVUSD video security system is centralised, with a network operations centre (NOC) at the district office and local monitoring at each school.
“One of the best decisions you can make”
“Graffiti is a common example. It happens when no one is around, and usually, the camera is the only witness,” commented Jon Pratt, Chief Technology Officer, MVUSD.
“If the footage is poor quality you can’t rely on it to stand by itself as evidence. Starting with high resolution cameras like i-PROs is one of the best decisions you can make.
“Having more resolution, more information to use, is a universal utility, whether it’s humans interacting with footage, for analytics, or any future technology.”
