Toggle“Fills an important gap in the market”
Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering and CSO, Genetec commented: “The physical security industry has not been able to get cloud or software as a service quite right, especially for enterprise customers.
“With Security Centre SaaS, organisations are no longer beholden to proprietary or feature-poor as a service solutions that needlessly force a choice of either all on-prem or all cloud.
“The enterprise capabilities and open architecture of Security Centre SaaS are designed to enable systems to handle complex workloads where they make the most sense to be deployed.
“This flexibility addresses a longstanding need of end users and fills an important gap in the market.”
With deployments growing in complexity, end users seek guidance from trusted security professionals during their transition to cloud and hybrid environments.
Genetec has revamped its procurement, deployment and maintenance approach to introduce this new SaaS solution to the market, ensuring it maintains its renowned enterprise grade capabilities.
“Long term customer satisfaction”
Michel Chalouhi, Vice President of Global Sales, Genetec remarked: “Current approaches to SaaS have undercut the role of channel partners, whom we see as central to customer and project success.
“Security Centre SaaS represents an important opportunity for our systems integrators.
“It means better margins and long term customer satisfaction, with no additional investment in time or resources on the part of partners.”
Through an automated quoting and ordering process, systems can quickly become operational shortly after an order is placed.
The newly introduced Genetec Portal facilitates the quoting, ordering, deployment and management of large deployments, allowing channel partners to efficiently grow their business and meet the technology and ownership preferences of their end users.
Security Centre SaaS enables centralised monitoring and management across multiple sites, catering to various industries such as retail, education, corporate campuses, banking, healthcare and cities.
Genetec’s deployment
The solution supports both small scale deployments with a limited number of direct to cloud devices and large scale setups with hybrid storage and processing capabilities.
Operators can oversee operations from a security operation centre (SOC) or remotely via web and mobile applications.
This platform offers deployment flexibility, accommodating a range of configurations through its hybrid-SaaS architecture.
Organisations can tailor components and sites to the cloud using a mix of cloud-native services and cloud-managed appliances, while retaining storage and processing capabilities at the edge.
The platforms open architecture allows organisations to select devices, cameras and door controllers according to their specific needs.
Furthermore, Security Centre SaaS seamlessly integrates with existing on-premises security devices and infrastructure.
Access control devices and cameras lacking cloud compatibility can connect to Security Centre SaaS through Genetec edge appliances.
Expected to be available globally in April 2024 through certified Genetec partners, Security Centre SaaS offers tiered subscription plans based on the required number of device connections.
The solution will be showcased at ISC West, booth #13062.
