barox, the global manufacturer of professional standard switches, media converters and IP extenders specifically designed for video applications, will be exhibiting on the Clear Vision Technologies stand at NSI Summit, The VOX on 21 March, Birmingham.

At the summit, barox will explain how its range of Powerhaus switches, which have been designed to cope with the specific requirements of IP video, support installers and end-users with a host of advanced features. To cope with a greater number of connected cameras vs. standard switches, Powerhaus switches also have increased backplane capacities. In addition, their comprehensive specification features Enhanced Device Management and troubleshooting, including PoE monitoring and consumption control, with device scheduling for energy saving, cable diagnostics and SNMP support.

Using barox Active Camera Tracking and Fault Logging, system cameras are automatically ‘pinged’ to check their operational status. If any camera(s) fail to respond, the switch automatically withdraws the PoE supply and initiates a camera re-boot, the fault is also logged. barox Fault Logging gives installers a diagnostic insight to easily pinpoint and remedy network and device issues quickly.

And in the age of the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0, where companies are increasingly relying on IP security to protect them from cyber attacks, all barox switches feature powerful built-in cybersecurity. Further effective device management is offered via Powerhaus individual Port Power Delay Mode, which allows the gradual step-up of power to individual ports – to prevent overloads occurring. PoE Consumption Control Trigger points can also be configured, to flag-up a device if its power consumption is increasing beyond normal parameters.

At NSI Summit, staff from barox and Clear Vision Technologies will be on hand to demonstrate the advantages inherent across the specialist barox video switch range, along with a GUI demonstration showing connected device activity and network diagnostics, as well as a sneak peek at the powerful new Milestone barox plug-in.

Visitors to the NSI Summit can visit barox on the Clear Vision Technologies stand, number 14. Visitors booking ‘free of charge’ barox product training, to be conducted at their own premises, will each receive a premium quality barox branded Swiss army knife.
