Videoloft has recently launched its Virtual Cloud Adapter for Windows, allowing organisations and security integrators to connect existing cameras and recorders to the Videoloft cloud platform without installing a physical Videoloft Cloud Adapter.
The software is free to download and run on compatible Windows devices and can support up to 64 compatible camera or recorder channels.
This means businesses can use suitable Windows hardware they already have on-site, rather than adding another device.

Because there is no physical adapter to ship, organisations can get started without waiting for new hardware to arrive.
They may also be able to repurpose suitable Windows hardware previously used for a legacy VMS or server, adding cloud video capabilities without letting that equipment go to waste.
According to Videoloft, this gives enterprise and multi-site organisations more flexibility when planning a cloud video deployment.
The Windows software can also be used alongside Videoloft’s physical Cloud Adapters, allowing IT and security teams to choose the right option for each location.
Once cameras are connected, users can view live and recorded video from any location.
Footage can also be stored securely offsite in the cloud, with configurable retention, secure sharing, camera health monitoring and AI video analytics managed from the same platform, the company added.
Giving customers and integrators more choice
James West, CEO and Co-Founder, Videoloft said: “Not every site needs another piece of hardware.
“The Virtual Cloud Adapter gives customers and integrators more choice in how they connect existing camera systems to Videoloft.”
For organisations managing multiple locations, the software provides a consistent way to connect cameras to one cloud VMS, even when the hardware available at each site is different.
The Virtual Cloud Adapter for Windows is available now. Although the software is free to download and run, a monthly or annual Videoloft subscription is required for the cloud service.
