IDIS has successfully deployed a comprehensive, end-to-end video solution to support Mercedes-Benz’s continued investments in its operations in Egypt.
The solution, delivered in collaboration with security integrator G4S Egypt, is intended to enhance both security measures and operational efficiency at the Mercedes-Benz showroom and warehouse located in the Abo Rawash 6th October city industrial area.
Streamlining operations
The Mercedes-Benz facility serves as a central hub for the storage and management of complete vehicles, spare parts, tools and local production materials.
The IDIS Direct IP solution encompassed all essential components, including cameras, recorders, video management system (VMS) software and accessories.
The system, comprising of fixed and varifocal 2MP and 5MP bullet cameras and domes, was delivered in phases with the showroom system installed first, then expanded to cover the warehouse.
IDIS technology ensures easy system adaptations
To ensure future flexibility, IDIS says that the VMS can be seamlessly upgraded to the IDIS Solutions Suite software, offering enterprise-level functionality while retaining the same user-friendly interface and controls.
The forward-and-backward compatibility of all IDIS technology and devices ensures easy system adaptations, eliminating the challenges and costs associated with discontinued product dead-ends.
In terms of data storage requirements, the solution had to accommodate a 60 day storage period to facilitate a comprehensive review of warehouse operations over extended durations.
According to the company, the successful deployment of the IDIS video solution at Mercedes-Benz’s Abo Rawash facility highlights the efficacy of its holistic approach, combining cutting-edge technology, adaptability and cost-effectiveness to meet the complex security and operational needs of a globally recognised brand in a crucial industrial setting.
“Advanced video solutions”
Dennis Choi, General Manager, IDIS Middle East & Africa commented: “Customers should always factor in the burden of installing and integrating, operating, maintaining and adapting solutions as needs change.
“This project for Mercedes-Benz is a clear demonstration of the benefits of this approach, showing IDIS’s true value offering in action.
“IDIS has partnered with G4S for over a decade in the Middle East, to deliver advanced video solutions on projects from power stations to pharmaceuticals.”
