In April and May 2023, APSEI, the Portuguese security association, promoted two Inverse Missions to Portugal with representatives from the UAE.
Throughout the six days of the missions – which took place within the scope of the Portugal Safe project – the delegation visited both companies working across the security sector as well innovative institutions.
UAE “a market of opportunity”
During the visit, the delegation also participated in the PROTEGER 2023 International Conference and in the Business Network event where, according to a recent announcement, ‘opportunities for partnerships between companies from the UAE and Portugal for Portuguese SMEs were addressed’.
“As part of the security sector’s internationalisation strategy, APSEI defined the United Arab Emirates as a market of opportunity,” said Carlos Dias, Chairman of the Board, APSEI.
“If Portuguese SMEs are already recognised, in other sectors, as quality and reliable partners, why not extend this reputation to the security sector and work alongside the most recognised world players, in a win-win perspective.”
The UAE delegation was composed of Dr. Lurdes Eusébio, Chairwoman of the Portuguese Business Council in Sharjah and Sunil Saxena, Managing Partner, Radiant DWC LLC.
During the Mission, APSEI signed a Cooperation Protocol with the Portugal Business Council in Sharjah.
