Fraport has started testing the R&S QPS Walk2000 for passengers at Frankfurt Airport.
Rohde & Schwarz’s walk-through security scanner has been designed to speed up security checks.
R&S QPS Walk2000
The first of these R&S QPS Walk2000 scanners is currently in use in Concourse A of Terminal 1.
According to Rohde & Schwarz, passengers walk through at a normal pace without stopping.
The test and evaluation phase is set to last up to six months and will provide Fraport and Rohde & Schwarz with vital information to help optimise the system.
Not only can the R&S QPS Walk2000 detect all kinds of items quickly and contact-free, millimeterwave technology also penetrates multiple layers of clothing.
Utilising AI-based detection software, the scanner can then automatically identify objects.
The evaluation of the R&S QPS Walk2000 at Frankfurt Airport by the German Federal Police and Fraport is another example of the continued excellent collaboration between Fraport and Rohde & Schwarz.
