Telia Towers Norway deploys iLOQ smart locks for enhanced security

iLOQ has announced that it has signed an agreement with Telia Towers Norway for the deployment of its innovative battery-free and keyless smart-locking system across the company’s 1,000+ tower sites.
The rollout of iLOQ’s advanced locking system has already commenced, with a goal to replace Telia Towers’ existing locks throughout its footprint in Norway over the next two years.
The company highlights that the existing locks can be quickly and easily replaced with iLOQ smart locks with no changes to the existing infrastructure needed.
iLOQ notes that its products will enhance convenience and security by enabling secure and keyless access to Telia Towers Norway sites.

“Handling is seamless”
Martin Gyllenhammar, Production Manager, Telia Towers Norway stated: “We already had a digital locking system with physical keys from another manufacturer.
“The transition to iLOQ’s keyless smart locks makes key management significantly more efficient for us and our tenants.
“Access rights are sent directly to the phone, which also supplies the power to open the maintenance-free lock.
“Previously, we had to outsource key storage to a nationwide security company. But, with iLOQ’s solution, key handling is seamless.”
He added: “Technicians don’t have to travel to validate, pick up and return keys, which can be time-consuming and a big challenge in the west and northern parts of Norway where you often have to take a ferry or two.”
“Seamless access”
Thomas Sommerfryd, Sales Manager Infrastructure, iLOQ Norway said: “There are many companies within the telecom sector who already have iLOQ phone keys for their sites.
“Additional phone keys from Telia Towers can be sent to iLOQ’s app running on their smartphone giving them seamless access.”
Sommerfryd concluded: “iLOQ’s solution also gives Telia Towers proper traceability of who has accessed what sites and when if, for example, an alarm is triggered at the site.”
