The physical security specialist, Technocover has successfully passed its annual Achilles UVDB (Utilities Vendor Database) Verify audit, achieving 100% across all assessment categories.

The company’s management and onsite operations were subject to two days of detailed inspection by Achilles auditors in gaining registration to Verify Category B2.

Achilles UVDB Verify is a rigorous pre-qualification scheme for the UK utilities sector, which assesses organisations against high standards of quality management and competence in awarding registration as a UVDB supplier.

The audit evaluated Technocover’s performance in Health and Safety, Environment, Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility for both internal management and external site operations, awarding the company 100% in all eight components.

Commenting on the success, Technocover MD, Charles Hurdman said: ”This impressive achievement is testament to the skill, dedication and hard work of our employees across the business to meet the very high standards of the Achilles UVDB scheme.

“Together with our LPCB third party approval and other security product accreditations, Achilles UVDB Verification is very important in assuring utility clients of our supplier integrity and the quality and reliability of our engineering to protect their assets and operational continuity.”

Technocover was first assessed and accredited under the Achilles UVDB Verify scheme in 2005 and has remained an approved supplier ever since, consistently meeting the stringent annual assessments and compliance checks.

Charles Hurdman added: “As a leader in physical protection for critical infrastructure, we strive for continual improvement in everything we do. Our 100% audit score is reassurance that our people and management processes are achieving this throughout the business, from manufacturing quality to health and safety.”

Based in mid-Wales, Technocover has been designing, manufacturing and installing high security physical protection for over 26 years, including UltraSecure doors, access covers, modular buildings and mesh enclosures.

Visitors to International Security Expo 2019, which runs Tuesday and Wednesday this week at Olympia London, can see Technocover on stand H40 alongside other Hill & Smith Holdings PLC-owned companies forming HS Security, a new global brand in physical security.
