Swann announces release of AI-powered voice assistant

Swann has announced the release of SwannShield, an AI-powered home security Voice Assistant.
Compatible with the SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell, the SwannShield engages with visitors in real-time across different scenarios, from package deliveries and identifying guests, to deterring potential criminals.
The use of AI
SwannShield uses the latest adaptive generative AI technology and user instructions to respond to visitors with natural, human-like interactions when they press the doorbell.
When activated, homeowners can benefit from the first smart doorbell complete with an AI Voice Assistant that can speak to visitors or intruders on their behalf with a realistic voice in a British accent even when the homeowners aren’t home.
These messages are not pre-recorded, but rather are dynamic, AI-generated responses reacting to the specific situation.
Personalisation of the SwannShield
The company says that it’s easy to personalise SwannShield via the settings in the app.
This includes:
- Activating it at the times it is needed using night and/or away ‘modes’
- Programming it to know the address of a resident’s home
- The real names of residents
- Giving instructions for where deliveries should be placed when residents aren’t home
It is also possible to set the demeanour of responses from the AI Voice Assistant, allowing the tone of voice they use to be chosen.
This includes polite, disinterested or aggressive tones to adequately deal with the type and nature of the visitors.
Security and privacy
SwannShield has built-in security and privacy and can effectively manage conversational exchanges across many different scenarios.
It has response accuracy and resilience which safeguards against un-anticipated interactions.
It is optimised to facilitate easy updates and future scalability via the cloud, like refining the assistant’s personality and allows for users to personalise settings in the Swann Security app.
Transcripts are also available for every conversation in app to see if there are any security irregularities or concerns.

Availability
SwannShield is available free of charge within the Swann Security App and can be used in conjunction with the SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell via an over the air (OTA) download of the latest firmware.
Swann notes that the SwannShield will become compatible with more Swann products in the months ahead.
