Security services provider STM Group has recently been awarded a major contract for the British Library’s St. Pancras site in London, UK.

Commencing on 1 July 2023, this partnership exemplifies STM’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the nation’s heritage sites.

The British Library

The British Library is the United Kingdom’s national library and it is one of the six legal deposit libraries in the UK and Ireland.

Renowned for housing one of the largest global collections of printed and digital material, it has an impressive catalogue of over 170 million items.

In fact, the library’s London and Yorkshire sites hold collections ranging from newspapers and maps to sound recordings, patents, academic journals as well as a copy of every UK domain website and blog.

Skilled STM team to secure site

According to STM, it is looking forward to leveraging its experience, expertise and commitment to enhance the security of the library’s collections whilst safeguarding staff and visitors.

The STM team assigned to the contract consists of a significant number of dedicated personnel, requiring a diverse range of skillsets, including expertise in safeguarding cultural institutions.

The contract has been awarded to STM on an initial three year period, with the option for extensions.

Perry Simpson, Chairman, The STM Group, commented: “Being chosen as the security service provider for the British Library, a notable cultural institution both in the UK and internationally, is a remarkable endorsement of the underlying confidence our clients have in STM’s capability to deliver high profile security services in sophisticated and sensitive environments.”
