SPX Communication Technologies has announced the launch of it’s Evenlode Lite, an introductory real-time airborne data link.
The video downlink system has been designed for regions new to airborne surveillance and those looking to enhance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.
The need for real-time situational awareness is expanding – Evenlode Lite offers customers a cost-effective solution for defence, security, border control and search and rescue teams.Â
What is Evenlode Lite?
Evenlode Lite is a beginners version of the Evenlode system, that has been operationally proven across the UK and Europe.
The process of Evenlode compromises air data terminals and ground data terminals, providing reliable, secure and real-time transmissions of 4K video, audio, GPS and telemetry data from airborne platforms to static or mobile ground teams.Â
The system is designed for integrators and end users in regions across Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
It offers a low barrier to entry for organisations seeking to improve ISR capabilities without the complexity and cost that is typically associated with such systems.
Key features of the Evenlode Lite
The Evenlode Lite features complete end-to-end solution that integrates with existing video systems to deliver live intelligence directly to ground teams.
It is very cost-effective as it reduces entry-level costs and makes it more accessible for a broader range of users.
The Evenlode Lite is International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) exempt as it is fully exportable to most regions. It can be deployed quickly with minimal regulatory constraints or complexity.
It is a secure option and is equipped with AES456 or substitution Cipher encryption, the system protects sensitive data during transmission, making it ideal for domestic security and search and rescue operations.
As concept of operations (CONOPS) requirements evolve, Evenlode Lite can be upgraded with additional features including dual video channels, onward IP video streaming and range extensions.
“An affordable and scalable solution”
Jackson White, Business Development Director of Tactical Data Links at SPX Communication Technologies commented: “Many defence and security teams lack the real-time intelligence to respond swiftly to incidents or mitigate risk.
“Evenlode Lite addresses this gap by offering an affordable and scalable solution that delivers critical intelligence, enabling faster, more informed decisions.
He added: “The system lowers the overall cost of ownership, making it an attractive option for regions with limited budgets while still providing the capability to upgrade as needs evolve.”
