Amid a record-breaking year in product production, the security technology manufacturer Paxton has expanded its Senior team, appointing Blair Bowen as Global Manufacturing Manager.
Paxton has broken all its earlier manufacturing records, with the busiest production period in its 37-year history. To support this growth, the company is currently hiring for a variety of roles on Paxton’s career page, and recently appointed Blair Bowen, who previously managed manufacturing teams for Collins Aerospace and Jaguar Land Rover.
Blair Bowen said: “What really attracted me to Paxton is the people and culture.
“I have spent the last 12 years working in a blue-chip large corporation environment. This is an opportunity to come to a growing organisation, get that breadth of exposure and broaden my horizons across multiple elements of the business.”
Blair is based at Paxton’s main UK manufacturing facility in Eastbourne, East Sussex. His role is integral to the company’s growth plans over the coming years. The firm is currently set to expand production lines and add more manufacturing space to meet the increase in demand internationally for its security systems.
He said: “There is a real focus on developing our manufacturing process in our pursuit to be world class. I will be looking at our manufacturing operating strategy. This will essentially grow the team and build up our current employees’ roles and responsibilities.”
Paxton has a well-established and experienced team that develop and create access control and video surveillance systems.
Blair explains: “At Paxton what I see is a team that are passionate about their products and passionate about the people. I feel I have an easy job as I have not necessarily got to motivate them.
“Having passionate people from the off is a good indicator for success moving forward and seeing them succeed motivates me. It is a driving factor in my role that gets me extremely excited.”
Paxton has a history of being a company that prides itself on being a good place to work and provide an extensive benefits package, as well as hybrid working opportunities. In March 2022, it ranked 29th in the Best Companies Survey, on the ‘UK’s Best Large Companies to Work For’ list and 2nd in the category of Best of UK Manufacturer.
Blair concludes: “Since starting, my decision to join Paxton has been re-confirmed. The business does really care and does have a focus on people and its culture. The aspirations I have for a higher level of decision making and breadth of exposure are coming true.
“I feel like I have made the right decision in joining the Paxton brand.”
