15,000 soldiers are expected to be deployed by the French military as part of a major security operation for next year’s Olympic Games being held in Paris.

The upcoming global multi-sport event is set to take place 26 July – 11 August 2024 across 17 cities in metropolitan France, with one site also in Tahiti in French Polynesia.
According to an article published by ESPN (via MSN), deployment plans have been confirmed by an army general involved in the preparations.
Gen. Christophe Abad, Military Governor of Paris said that approximately 10,000 troops will be deployed in Paris and the surrounding region.
The French capital is where the majority of the Olympic events will be concentrated.
The news outlet has also claimed that a temporary camp for 5,000 military troops will be established in a park in the southeast of the capital.
The private security industry is also expected to play a key role in ensuring safety at the games.
