SKIDATA, part of ASSA ABLOY, has recently developed a sensor-based access gate designed for faster entry experience at mountain destinations, stadiums, leisure parks, and other high-traffic venues.

SKIDATA’s sMOVE solution
Visitors at locations such as mountain destinations often arrive carrying skis, boards, bikes, bags or with strollers and wheelchairs.
Traditional gates can slow people down when they require a fixed movement pattern or create a hard stop at the point of entry.
sMOVE overcomes this, supporting ticket technologies including smartphones, QR and barcode scanning, RFID and NFC.
It also utilises safety sensors and people detection to follow movement continuously in the background, creating a more intuitive access experience for visitors and operators. sMOVE is available in two formats:
- sMOVE Turn follows a more traditional turnstile structure
- sMOVE Wave uses a soft, flexible barrier element that folds away instead of blocking the path
