Shamnad Karuvadi, Deputy Manager ELV & Physical Security, Mannai Corporation QPSC – a customer of Ipsotek – speaks exclusively with ISJ.

Can you tell us more about Mannai?

Mannai Networking and ELV are indeed prominent players in the Qatar region, particularly in areas like networking infrastructure, cloud security and physical security.

Mannai Security Systems have built strong reputations by providing high-quality security solutions and services tailored to the growing needs of the market.

Can you share how long you have been a customer of Ipsotek and your overall experience working with their computer vision technology?

We have been working with Ipsotek for over five years and the partnership offers mutual success and growth.

As a key system integrator in Qatar, we depend on robust and innovative technologies and Ipsotek’s computer vision solutions are consistently evolving.

Their technology is reliable, adaptable across diverse verticals and offers unparalleled precision, making it invaluable to our customers.

No technology is truly effective without a strong team behind it.

Ipsotek’s global and local team have always been responsive and up for a challenge, ensuring that we stay ahead in adopting new technologies while avoiding overpromises in the wake of the recent AI buzz.

What has been the most impactful benefit or outcome of using Ipsotek’s technology so far?

The most impactful to us as a systems integrator is that Ipsotek‘s technology goes beyond security – it serves objectives in operations, safety, business intelligence and more.

Thus, our clientele becomes wider and the investment we make in training resources is around only one technology.

Offering a single platform capable of addressing various needs can help us deliver measurable ROI through cost-savings across multiple areas as well.

This versatility encourages wider adoption as the tech becomes appealing to stakeholders and ultimately makes it an indispensable tool for our direct clients.

Are you familiar with Ipsotek’s latest GenAI development into its platform? What excites you most about this innovation?

Yes, and I must say it’s an exciting leap forward for their platform. What excites me most is the two-way interaction this technology enables.

The Natural Language Detector (NLD) allows for intuitive communication with the system, while VISense not only understands what’s happening in a scene but interprets and communicates it back to the user.

The name VISense feels particularly apt – it truly feels like an additional sense given to the user. These innovations promise to simplify complex processes and enhance user interaction, making the technology more intuitive and powerful than ever before.

When you first learned about Ipsotek’s Natural Language Detector and VISense, what were your initial thoughts? How do they align with your expectations from a trusted technology provider?

My initial reaction was that these tools align perfectly with our expectations from a trusted provider – emphasising user-friendliness, scalability and advanced performance.

Moreover, it is supporting our clients base where we are now able to support their security and day-to-day operational needs.

What specific use cases or applications of GenAI do you think will be most valuable to your company?

Old, unsolvable problems will be revisited, real-time incident response will take a new definition and business intelligence will gain more innovation as we bring a new ability for this technology to understand the scene in a smarter way.

NLD will help on the operations side by enabling natural language queries, reducing training times and increasing operator efficiency.

VISense, with their ability to offer actionable insights and predictive analytics, can help us proactively address challenges and uncover new opportunities.

How confident are you in Ipsotek’s ability to implement and support these new GenAI developments?

I have confidence in Ipsotek’s ability to implement and support these new developments.

This confidence is rooted in the company’s proven track record of over 20 years, specifically the success stories in Qatar; Ipsotek consistently delivers on their promises, provides robust technical support and demonstrates a deep understanding of our operational needs.

We, as a well-established systems integrator, also take part in this. We adopt a collaborative approach – where we work together to address end-user challenges – which ensures a smooth implementation and satisfied customers.

This partnership fosters continuous improvement, making it a win-win for everyone involved.

Why do you think integrating GenAI into existing computer vision technology is significant for the future of this field and the country?

Today’s AI tools promise efficiency, speed and accessibility – and incorporating GenAI into computer vision seems like a natural evolution.

For Qatar, which is rapidly advancing in technology and infrastructure, this integration aligns perfectly with our vision of becoming a global leader in smart city and AI technologies.

GenAI-powered solutions will drive efficiency, safety and innovation, making them critical for future progress.

We also work closely with Ipsotek to educate users, ensuring they adopt safe and suitable technologies for their needs.

There’s now a trend around AI tools and that can be dangerous if you don’t have responsible parties managing the implementation and outcome.

What would you say to other organisations considering Ipsotek’s GenAI solutions for their own needs?

I’d say there’s a lot to explore and appreciate, especially when you engage with a technology in their early development stages.

Witnessing Ipsotek’s GenAI solutions unfold feels like being part of the innovation process itself.

The company’s openness to feedback and their collaborative approach ensures that the technology is continually refined to meet user needs.

Ipsotek’s customers are truly at the heart of what they do and their commitment to involving users in shaping the technology sets them apart.
