My name is Dr Fariborz Baghaei Naeini and I am the Chief Data Scientist at Ipsotek, leading our work in AI with a focus on Generative AI and Computer Vision.

What are some of the key trends and predictions you think we will see in the security industry in 2026?

In 2026, we’ll see a major shift toward agentic AI across the security industry.

Instead of relying on isolated tools, organisations will use specialised AI agents that interpret different data sources, from sensors to video and feed their findings into a unified knowledge system.

This integration will give security teams clearer, more actionable insights, faster decision-making and higher accuracy.

As these systems mature, they’ll help move the industry from reactive responses to more proactive, intelligence-driven security.

What is one piece of advice you would give organisations and professionals as they head into 2026?

As organisations move toward agentic AI, the most important step is ensuring their infrastructure can support it. The real value of these systems comes from unifying information, bringing data from different sensors, platforms and software into a single, coherent knowledge base.

Without that foundation, even the strongest AI capabilities can only offer partial insight.

Investing early in capturing, organising and connecting data across the organisation will allow agentic platforms to deliver their full potential in accuracy, speed and decision support.
