Iveda has announced the completion of a comprehensive European Union Artificial Intelligence Act readiness initiative.
According to the company, this has positioned IvedaAI for continued responsible deployment as the company expands across Europe.
The initiative combines a documented risk-classification assessment with an extensive governance framework addressing human oversight, transparency, data protection, AI fairness, prohibited uses and ongoing lifecycle management.
EU AI Act
The EU AI Act, the world’s first comprehensive legal framework governing artificial intelligence, entered into force on August 1, 2024, with its next major provisions beginning to apply on August 2, 2026.
While organisations around the world continue to determine how the regulation will affect their AI development and deployment practices, Iveda began preparing its governance framework in early 2025, building upon the company’s existing GDPR data-protection practices and long-standing commitment to responsible technology.
“A new global benchmark”

Assessment
As part of the initiative, Iveda completed a comprehensive assessment of IvedaAI under the EU AI Act’s risk-based framework.
Based on its documented intended purpose, required human oversight and European deployment controls, Iveda determined that the approved EU configuration of IvedaAI does not pose a significant risk of harm to individuals’ health, safety or fundamental rights.
IvedaAI is designed to augment human awareness and decision-making rather than replace human judgement.
This readiness initiative builds upon Iveda’s broader foundation of internationally recognised security and responsible-technology practices.
Certifications and recognitions
Iveda revealed that it has attained the ISO 27001 certification, a widely recognised standards for information security management.
Meanwhile IvedaAI holds a Developmental Testing and Evaluation Designation under the US Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act.
The company highlighted that its history with the DHS SAFETY Act dates back to 2009, reflecting more than 17 years of government-recognised innovation in security technology.
The initiative
The initiative arrives amid significant European expansion for Iveda.
The company explained that it recently established Iveda Spain in Madrid as its first European operations centre and entered into a strategic partnership with Primion, a leading provider of converged security and workforce management solutions serving approximately 5,000 customers worldwide.
Together, these developments strengthen Iveda’s ability to support European municipalities, enterprises, critical infrastructure operators and security partners with in-region expertise and responsibly governed AI technology.
Video surveillance
According to Grand View Research, Europe’s video surveillance market is estimated at $18.3 billion in 2026 and projected to reach $35.8 billion by 2033, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 10.1%.
Against this rapidly expanding market backdrop, Iveda is strengthening its European presence while advancing a responsible framework for AI-powered video intelligence.

Compliance
As the EU AI Act guidance and implementation mechanisms continue to evolve, the company highlighted that it will maintain an active compliance program encompassing policy reviews, employee training, risk monitoring, performance evaluation, documentation updates and regulatory cooperation.
This approach is designed to keep IvedaAI aligned with applicable European requirements throughout the technology’s lifecycle, Iveda added.
