ISS (Intelligent Security Systems) has appointed Joe Harvey as its Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Market Sector Leader.

The global provider has created the new role in light of the widespread adoption of network surveillance cameras and connected devices in cities across the world.

According to ISS, ‘there has been a subsequent effort to leverage this “smart” infrastructure’ to create ITS, which are capable of providing municipalities with data and analytics to enhance safety.

Joe Harvey joins ISS

Prior to ISS, Harvey worked in various leadership positions at traffic and parking safety solutions provider TAPCO (Traffic and Parking Control Co., Inc.).

During his ten years with the company, Harvey led market development efforts for its Wrong Way Alert System and also served as Product Manager for its DMS product line.

ISS is manufacturing the physical hardware necessary to monitor the ever changing transportation world,” said Harvey.

“Leveraging our renowned AI video analytics to provide solutions to the travelling public and ITS sector will enact real world change and we will be a part of shaping what ITS provides for our future and I am excited to be a part of that process.”

“Years of experience and industry expertise”

“ITS is in the DNA of SecurOS, from our first LPR analytic that was released over 20 years ago to the development of new, cutting-edge products like our Soffit system for pedestrian safety,” added Matt Powell, Managing Director for North America, ISS.

“Our North American customers and partners understand the importance of our global experience with transportation and smart cities and how it brings value to the market.

“Joe, with years of experience and industry expertise, will help guide our teams in the development of SecurOS as the platform of the future in transportation.

“We are thrilled he will be the North American face to our global experience, educating our partners and the industry on the power of video intelligence in the intelligent transportation space.”
