IDIS has announced that it has been honoured with a gold level ranking in the 2020 Secure Campus Awards, run by Campus Security & Life Safety magazine. The annual competition recognises the year’s most notable achievements by security industry manufacturers whose products are considered to have delivered real improvements in campus security. The IDIS 12MP Outdoor Panomorph Fisheye camera (DC-Y8C13WRX) won the top award in the ‘IP Camera’ category.
The judges were impressed by a series of recent successful deployments of the IDIS 12MP Fisheye camera at campuses, colleges and schools globally, including: Clinton Independent School District, Coppell Independent School District, Washakie School District No.1, Fazakerley High School and Swanshurst School (UK) and at care facilities run by the UK’s NHS health service.
The independent panel of security industry judges selected the top entries based on criteria including: features, innovation, user friendliness, interoperability, quality, design, market opportunity and impact in the security industry, technical advances and scalability.
Full situational awareness is key to rapid incident response on campuses and the IDIS Fisheye camera’s 12MP resolution allows it to de-warp video in ultra HD right out to the periphery, avoiding image distortion. Consequently, users can comfortably pan, tilt and zoom through footage using silky smooth Smart UX Controls, unmatched by any other fisheye camera. This innovation gives campuses an affordable way to achieve site-wide video surveillance with fewer cameras and no blind-spots. In addition, the 12MP Panomorph Fisheye is fully cybersecure with resource efficient encryption and proprietary-protocols, is easily installed with one-click plug-and-play technology and gives users a lower total cost of ownership than traditional video technology.
As part of an IDIS end-to-end total solution, the 12MP Panomorph Fisheye seamlessly integrates with recorders and a choice of video management software (VMS), to deliver feature-rich functionality. For interoperability with third party equipment and systems, the camera supports ONVIF and IDIS offers a simple software development kit (SDK) for integration with intruder and access control.
“IDIS is very honoured to have been recognised with this prestigious Secure Campus Award,” says Andrew Myung, President, IDIS America. “School administrators and campus police departments need situational awareness more than ever to keep their communities safe. IDIS is very pleased to be able to offer them site-wide high-definition video solutions that are affordable to install, operate and maintain and deliver the high level of security needed to keep their campuses safe.”
