ICAO names Hamad Salem Al Muhairi in leadership role

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has named Hamad Salem Al Muhairi as Chairman of its Committee of Aviation Security Experts.
Al Muhairi – who is Assistant Director General of Aviation Security Affairs in the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE – is the first Emirati to take on this prestigious role.
According to Emirates News Agency, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA, said that Al Muhairi’s appointment reflects the UAE’s policy of openness.
Furthermore, he expressed that the appointment showcases the country’s prominent global leadership and influence among civil aviation leaders.
