Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division has announced it was awarded two patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The company was awarded for its security solutions designed to improve incident management and emergency response.
The newly patented solutions allow access to security video footage and enable secure data sharing across organisations.
This empowers public safety agencies, security personnel and other responders to better protect communities.
Hexagon’s advanced web player technology
US Patent No.12,010,389 covers Hexagon’s advanced web player technology, which is used within the Qognify VMS video management solution.
This enables simultaneous streaming and playback of footage from multiple cameras through a standard web browser.
Users are able to synchronise playback across multiple sources which ensures privacy masking.
The player also allows for frame-by-frame analysis, enabling extremely accurate results during incident management, investigation and review processes.
Hexagon’s cloud-based collaboration portal
US Patent No.11,973,810 covers data-sharing capabilities within Hexagon’s cloud-based collaboration portal, HxGN Connect.
HxGN Connect allows users from disparate organisations to rapidly and securely share a common operating picture and critical information without compromising overall data security.
Under the specific conditions that users set, they are able to share the certain data they want to share with people of their choice.
“Will be vital for protecting people”
Kalyn Sims, Chief Technology Officer, Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division commented: “As greater demands are placed on public safety and security operations, new ground-breaking technologies will be vital for protecting people, places and assets.”
She added: “Hexagon is committed to innovating solutions that make our world safer. These patents are evidence of our dedication.”
