Gunnebo has earned the Bronze EcoVadis medal for its dedication to sustainable business practices and corporate responsibility.

The company has been intensifying its sustainability efforts with a focus on building a resilient business that delivers long term profitability.

The prestigious EcoVadis award is a rating platform that assesses the environmental and social performances of companies across all different industries.

Performance is decided based on the following four categories: Environmental Impact, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

Gunnebo’s EcoVadis ratings

The company was awarded a score of 62. This rating has significantly risen since its 2023 rating of 48.

The difference in ratings between the year has highlighted that Gunnebo has progressed on its sustainability journey.

The President and CEO of Gunnebo, Stefan Syrén commented: “We are on a journey to establish a robust and sustainable business model that ensures solid long-term profitability.”

He continued: “Our improved EcoVadis rating demonstrates we are on the right path.

“While we are still in the early stages of this transition, I am confident this Bronze Medal represents just the beginning.

“We will continue to do all we can to strengthen our efforts for a better future.”

The company has made notable success with its rating being a lot higher a year onwards from its original scoring.

Gunnebo’s aims

By 2045, Gunnebo says that it is committed to achieving a net-zero of carbon emissions under the Science Based Targets Initiative.

This goal will decarbonise the entire business model if the target is met.

The company has also dedicated a lot of its time to creating a safe and diverse workplace where employees are empowered to innovate and deliver top-quality products for customers and partners.

Head of Sustainability, Per Hökfelt’s statement

“I am pleased with our progress in improving our rating from last year and also acutely aware of the continued need for improvement,” said Hökfelt.

“I firmly believe in the long-term approach to sustainability, which involves laying the groundwork for future profitability by steadily moving towards net-zero-emissions.”

Gunnebo claims it will continue advancing on its sustainability journey.

The company endeavours to stay committed to making meaningful progress and setting new standards of sustainability in the security industry.
