Genetec receives qualification from the ANSSI

Genetec-receives-qualification-from-the-ANSSI

Genetec Inc. has announced that it is the only access control vendor to be qualified by the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI).

According to the company, it qualified for its high assurance access control system.

This qualification follows Genetec earning First-Level Security Certification (CSPN) from the Agency in 2025.

The qualification applies to the Genetec Security Center Synergis access control system, the Synergis Cloud Link, and the STid secure I/O module, which was developed specifically for this architecture by STid. It also covers STid SSCP v2 readers operating in transparent mode and MIFARE DESFire EV2/EV3 smart cards.

“Underscoring our position”

Cyrille Becker, Managing Director, Genetec EMEA commented: “Genetec is recognised globally for its cybersecure solutions, underscoring our position as the trusted solution of choice in the physical security industry.

“Achieving ANSSI qualification further demonstrates our ability to meet the most stringent cybersecurity standards and our long-term commitment to helping customers safeguard their environments.”

Meeting the requirements

The ANSSI qualification (qualification decision no. 2777) attests to the robustness of Genetec access control solutions and their ability to meet the highest levels of cybersecurity and trust requirements.

For organisations designated as Operators of Vital Importance (OIVs), such as those in healthcare, airports and energy, this qualification validates that their systems can protect critical infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated cyber and physical threats while meeting strict French regulatory requirements.

For organisations outside of France, the ANSSI qualification acts as a recognised benchmark for cybersecurity rigor, vetted by a trusted national authority.

Genetec said that it obtained the “Elementary level” ANSSI qualification after earning its First-Level Security Certification (CSPN) from the Agency.

While certification confirms that a product meets defined cybersecurity standards at a given point in time, qualification represents a higher level of assurance.

It requires more extensive testing and auditing, as well as a long-term commitment to maintaining compliance with ANSSI requirements.

“The highest cybersecurity standards”

Becker later added: “For users, this distinction is critical,” Becker added.

“It ensures systems go beyond managing access points to serve as a first line of defense against cyber-threats.

“Organisations in France and across Europe, seeking a highly secure access control system can confidently rely on Genetec, knowing this qualification demonstrates our ability to meet the highest cybersecurity standards,” he concluded.

ANSSI qualification

According to Genetec, the ANSSI qualification complements a broad set of cybersecurity certifications, attestations and program recognitions already achieved by the company, including ISO 27001 and ISO 27017, IRAP, Essential 8, TX-RAMP, FICAM/FIPS 201-2, DHS Safety Act, UL 2900-2-3 Level 3, CAPSS and SOC 2 Type II.

Genetec solutions also comply with GDPR and NIS2 requirements.

The qualified products are available through Genetec-accredited channel partners.
