Genetec Inc., a technology provider of unified security, operations and business intelligence solutions has announced that it has appointed Craig Smith as Regional Sales Manager for Scotland. The announcement also coincides with the onboarding of three new Scottish partners – Pointer ltd, Kore Solutions and North, (formerly known as Boston Networks). In this newly created position, Craig will work with key Genetec channel partners to drive new business and expand company market share in Scotland.
“As the global gold standard in unified security and operations and with its tremendous growth trajectory in the European and UK markets, it is certainly an exciting time to be joining the Genetec team,” said Smith. Looking across the region, we see a great deal of yet untapped potential, especially in key industries like oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation and energy – for which Scotland has a rich and proud history.”
Prior to joining Genetec, Craig was the Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Ireland at Hanwha, a Genetec partner. During his decade-long role at Hanwha, he helped its Scottish team navigate an ever-changing security landscape, giving him a unique and well-rounded understanding of the market and the organisations that operate within it.
“Craig’s extensive experience has given him a deep understanding of the nuances of the Scottish security market,” said Paul Dodds, Country Manager UK & Ireland at Genetec. “Despite the disruption caused by COVID-19 and Brexit, the creation of this new role illustrates our continued commitment to the region and marks a period of increased investment across the UK as a whole. With Craig at the helm and continued support from our partners, I’m sure we will continue to exceed our growth objectives and consolidate our position in Scotland.”
