G4S Kenya has confirmed that its newly formed exclusive partnership with UPS will help strengthen export and import activities across the country whilst ensuring greater operational efficiency.

UPS’s intelligent global logistics network, paired with G4S’s extensive knowledge of the Kenyan market, will also provide local businesses with improved reliability and faster delivery services.

With over 50 years of experience in courier services in Kenya, G4S has delivered goods including medical supplies, clothing, electronics and exam papers to even the most remote parts of the country.

Security know-how

G4S Kenya handles more than 20,000 shipments of varying sizes and shapes on a daily basis.

The company has implemented robust measures to ensure timely and secure deliveries, including 24-hour backup and response for drivers as well as a vehicle monitoring system that allows for driver tracking.

The company explained that this is a direct result of its network of over 140 sites, a fleet of more than 400 courier vehicles and motorcycles, a deep knowledge of Kenya’s towns and terrain and the ‘security know-how to give customers peace of mind that goods will be secure.’

G4S & UPS: “The perfect match”

Laurence Okelo, Managing Director, G4S Kenya said: “The demand for courier services in Kenya continues to grow, so a partnership with the global leader in logistics and Kenya’s leading courier service provider is the perfect match.

“Customers using G4S courier service will continue to receive the same excellent level of service they expect, but they’ll now find that some vehicles and couriers will be in the UPS branding and some with G4S co-branding.”

Grégory Goba-Blé, Vice President, UPS ISMEA added: “At UPS, we’re using our smart global logistics network to help businesses in Kenya compete, diversify their revenue through trade, and build new customer relationships in a dynamic marketplace.

“Logistics plays an especially key role for small businesses seeking competitive advantages and we are excited to partner with G4S in Kenya to deliver what matters for our customers here.”
