A recruitment fair focussed on appointing more security staff for the French railway networks has recently taken place.

The event – put on by French Railways (SNCF) – was aimed at strengthening security services for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the company trying to hire 500 staff in time for the events.

According to insidethegames.biz, SNCF operates a transport policing system known as the “Sûreté Ferroviaire”, which they hope to be able to further secure by hiring new officers; recruitment is expected to double from last year.

Whilst those taking part at the event undertook various tests and assessments, the company has confirmed that the recruitment process is open to everyone.

Successful applicants will receive eight months training before the games begin.
