The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) has announced the Third Edition of its Annual CISO Meetup, taking place in Vienna on 4 & 5 November.

Around 200 Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) from 26 European nations are participating, marking a significant milestone for collaboration and information sharing among CISOs in Europe.

This years meetup will see ECSO gathering the European CISO Community to explore critical cybersecurity issues.

This flagship event offers an environment for cybersecurity leaders to connect and gain insights into the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Attendees will engage in discussions on critical topics through:

  • A programme of real-life case studies
  • Roundtable discussions
  • Keynote presentations

Cyber-threats and threat intelligence

As cyber threats and attacks continue to grow, ECSO recognises the need for cross-border CISO collaboration.

This meetup enables essential partnerships to strengthen Europe’s digital resilience, facilitating the exchange of threat intelligence, best practices and shared perspectives on key challenges.

The meeting will consist of high-level discussions, where ECSO brings together CISOs from a varierty of diverse backgrounds, aiming to build a coordinated cybersecurity front across Europe.

Opening the meeting

Opening up the meeting this year is the Chairperson of ECSO, Axel Deininger and the Secretary General of ECSO, Luigi Rebuffi.

This will be followed by an introduction on “Austrian Cybersecurity Landscape Before and After NIS2” by Wolfgang Rosenkranz, Team Lead, CERT.at.

Following on from this session, guests will then hear broader discussions including one on the topic of ECSO’s mission to bridge cybersecurity efforts.

This session will be titled ‘National/Regional CISO Communities: How to Move Towards a Pan-European Movement?’.

“Foster collaboration”

Axel Deininger, Chairperson, ECSO commented: “CISOs nowadays are faced with multiple challenges such as digital transformation, evolving cyber regulations or cloud security concerns.
