Businesses across sectors globally are experiencing more cyber threats as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and rapid shift to remote working. These include an increase in targeted phishing and email spam, malware, ransomware and malicious domains. Cyber hackers are also looking to exploit vulnerabilities in an attempt to steal valuable information at this challenging time putting IT teams are under more pressure than ever before. Having to balance protecting against new cyber threats and maintaining business continuity is difficult and many are finding they are not prepared.

However, cyber risks should not be considered purely as a network issue. Security Directors and IT Directors should work closely on cyber resilience in three core areas: developing business continuity plans for when IT defences fail, training staff on good cybersecurity behaviours and assessing the cybersecurity posture of the key vendors that are directly connected to their IT infrastructure and physical assets.

Organisations have to do more to bring cybersecurity and physical security planning together in order to successfully counter cyber-physical threats now and in the future.

International Cyber Expo 2020

The launch of International Cyber Expo (ICE) comes at an important time. Taking place on 2-3 December at Olympia in London, the event unites the worlds of cyber and physical security, co-located alongside the market leading – International Security Expo (ISE).

In the last edition of International Security Expo, 37% of the entire audience stated that ‘Cyber’ was one of their top priorities. Whilst the show already had a ‘Cybersecurity Zone’ supported by ADS & Tech UK, this large increase in interest in cyber coupled with the huge growth experienced by the industry as a whole, specifically gave confidence to give this community its own dedicated global event.

Tristan Norman, Group Exhibition Director at Nineteen Group comments: There is no hiding from the increasing prominence of cybersecurity particularly within the traditional physical security realm. 5342 visitors attended ISE 2019 to seek out suppliers and education specifically within cybersecurity.”

He continues: “There is a large correlation between our audience who are interested in cyber and who also have responsibility for Critical National Infrastructure (CNI). This is a perfect example of where the frequency of traditional physical security threats is now superseded by the frequency of cyber-attacks from serious organised crime and terrorism on CNI. A fully blended and comprehensive security approach encompassing cyber and physical security is now paramount.”

International Cyber Expo will curate both high level content and exhibitors to address the convergence between cyber and physical security as well as other adjacent areas of cybersecurity which are relevant to the audience.

Exhibition

The exhibition will showcase game-changing cyber products and services including Network Protection, Industrial Systems, Endpoint Security, Managed Services, Apps, Mobile Security, Identity & Access Management, Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, Disaster Recovery and more.

Product innovation

The Product Innovation Theatre is an important platform for leading brands and companies to launch products and to showcase their solutions. It gives visitors a great opportunity to hear product experts talk about real life applications and case studies.

The two day Cyber in Security Conference (CPD certified by The Security Institute) will take centre stage looking at lessons learned, current and future threats and industry challenges. Aimed at all levels, the sessions will give practical advice and guidance.

Immersive Demonstrator

The Cyber Attack Demonstrator is designed for those responsible for ensuring stability, profitability and continued operation in the face of a cyber attack. It is an immersive feature run in association with CrisisCast, where people can hone their response skills, prepare for cyber threats and shocks, explore unknown areas of vulnerability and learn how to survive in the new age of information warfare.
