Hikvision has announced that its smart building solution has been deployed across Deluxe Residences, a new boutique apartment complex in Singapore.
According to the company, the smart building solution was deployed to meet the increasing demand for safe, smart and convenient living spaces.
Smart urban lifestyle
As a modern residential complex, Deluxe Residences wanted to provide its residents with a seamless living experience that prioritises security, convenience and efficiency.
More specifically, the apartment manager recognised the need for a robust access control system which would ensure that only authorised people could enter the premises.
According to the company, this included:
- Managing vehicle access at the gates
- Controlling personnel access to the building
- Integrating elevator access to prevent unauthorised movement between floors
The complex also required a reliable video security system in public areas to ensure safety and peace of mind.
Lastly, the company emphasises that the solution needs to be easy to use for both residents and management.
Hikvision’s smart building deployment
To achieve this, Deluxe Residences partnered with system integrator Wen Hong Engineering Services to deploy Hikvision’s smart building solution.
According to the company, the solution that they implemented has focused on three key areas, including:
Vehicle Access Control –
- For vehicle access control, two 4MP ANPR Intelligent Entrance Video Units (DS-TCG405-E) have been installed at the gates
- These devices automatically recognise license plates, ensuring that only authorised vehicles can enter the premises
Personnel access control –
- For personnel access, two Facial Recognition Door Stations (DS-KD9203-ME6) have been installed at the main entrances
- Residents can unlock doors using facial recognition, access cards, or PIN codes, providing a secure and contactless entry experience
- Additionally, 50 IP-Based Indoor Stations (DS-KH6320-WTE1) have been installed in each apartment
- These allow residents to receive video calls, open doors remotely and view live footage from public areas using the Hik-Connect app on their mobile phones
- The system also integrates with the elevator, ensuring visitors can only access designated floors after being approved by a resident
Video security
- For video security, a mix of smart cameras has been installed. Seven 4 MP AcuSense Strobe Light and Audible Warning Fixed Mini Bullet Cameras (DS-2CD3046G2-IU/SL) provide excellent low-light performance and classify human and vehicle targets using deep learning algorithms
- The security team can use built-in strobe light and audio alarms to warn off intruders
- Additionally, 33 units of the 2 MP Fixed Bullet Network Camera (DS-2CD3021G2-LIUF) and two 2 MP Built-in Mic Fixed Turret Network Cameras (DS-2CD1323G0-IUF) ensure comprehensive coverage of public areas
- All footage is recorded and stored by a 64-channel 2U 4K NVR (DS-9664NI-M8) and managed via the HikCentral Professional platform, which serves as the central hub for device, video and access authentication list management

Security, access and operational efficiency
Hikvision reports that the residents now enjoy enhanced security and convenience.
The contactless access system ensures secure and seamless entry, while anti-tailgating measures prevent unauthorised individuals from entering.
The video intercom system simplifies visitor management, allowing residents to identify and grant access to guests or delivery personnel from their homes.
The company adds that the elevator integration adds an extra layer of security, controlling movement between floors and the 24/7 video security system provides peace of mind in a well-protected environment.
