Credence Security blends physical with virtual for 2020 roadshow

Credence

Credence Security, the distributor of cybersecurity, forensics, governance, risk and compliance solutions has announced that the fifth edition of its popular roadshow will involve a blend of face-to-face and virtual interaction, in light of travel restrictions and public safety concerns during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Credence Security Roadshow 2020 has been specially designed to give delegates a blueprint for building cyber resilience in the digital era. The event which will take place 15-16 September will be targeted at a global audience, with face-to-face networking taking place, on a smaller scale than usual, with focus vendors in Dubai, Riyadh, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Hyderabad and Lagos.

Sessions will be split into four tracks: Continuous Adaptive Risk Assessment; Data Security and Governance; Digital Forensics and Incident Response; and Identity, Payments and Digital Security.

Eight customer case studies — one for each track, over two days — will give attendees further insight into the state of play across the threat landscape, as will keynotes by leading voices from the region’s cybersecurity industry, including the CISO of the UAE’s leading Islamic Bank, the Head of Security for Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) and the leader of one of the largest digital-forensics labs in the Middle East.

Speaking ahead of the roadshow about the unique format of the event, which is expected to draw some 2,000 attendees, Garreth Scott, Managing Director at Credence Security, said: “We will always put the safety of our customers and partners first, which is why we have joined forces with a leading virtual-platform and streaming company to provide something really different, unlike the Zoom and WebEx sessions we have all come to know. That said, we acknowledge that there will never be a replacement for face-to-face networking, so our 2020 roadshow allows for that, under the safest possible conditions.”

Online exhibits will include virtual lobbies and interactive spaces, as well as vendor stands, networking rooms, auditoriums and technical sessions. Credence specialists will also conduct real-time conferences with vendors through various tools and hold gamification sessions such as pop quizzes, leader-boards and polling, with prizes and giveaways throughout the two-day event.

Platinum sponsors for the Credence Security Roadshow 2020 are Entrust Datacard, GTB Technologies, nCipher Security, Magnet Forensics and ESET, with participation from Alsid, ColorTokens, Digital Shadows, MetaCompliance, Wallix, RedSeal, Netskope, Sealpath, Spirion, Fornetix, Randtronics, MSAB, OpenText, Speech Technology Center (SpeechPro), Sumuri, Teel Technologies, X1 and ZecOps.

“The frequency and sophistication of cyberattacks and their impact on bottom lines and reputations, means organisations can ill afford for security to be just another IT to-do,” Scott warned. “A robust cybersecurity posture is fundamental to an organisation’s ability to build trust with employees, partners and customers and to operate efficiently and grow. So, while it is important to keep innovating, especially under current conditions, enterprises, public and private, need to be prepared for what’s out there. The goal at all times should be to carefully consider the security implications of any digital transformation initiative. Risk management is key — any security investment should be proportional to the business risk the organisation is willing to bear.”
