German data protection specialist acquired by Utimaco

Platform provider of cybersecurity and compliance products, Utimaco, has recently confirmed its acquisition of conpal GmbH, a company which offers IT solutions for the protection of confidential data.
Stefan Auerbach, CEO, Utimaco said that the acquisition will help the company position itself as “the preferred partner for cybersecurity and compliance in highly regulated and demanding industries.”
Auerbach added: “Deep integration, from the hardware through various software systems to the cloud, plays a crucial role for us. With conpal, we are now gaining another first class product that fits seamlessly into our ecosystem.”
With this acquisition, Utimaco will be able to offer customers a complete portfolio for IT security from a single source in the areas of data encryption, hardware security modules, key management and public key infrastructure (PKI) in highly regulated areas.
Conpal’s flagship product, LAN Crypt, will become part of Utimaco’s Data Protection division.
