Camden Door Controls has introduced a new line of 36″ tall ‘Side Load’ column push plate switches.
Installation and design
These switches are installed by mounting the activation plate directly onto the back switch assembly with six screws.
They are designed for use when an obstruction above the installed switch prevents the use of a ‘Top Load’ model.
According to the company, these switches incorporate an enclosed backbox which is ideal when mounting the switch where the back is visible or when selecting the option for Kinetic wireless or DPDT switches, or where it is desired to mount the Column Switch to narrow curtain wall.
Features
Camden states that the CM-84 and CM-85 Series extruded aluminum Column switches are ADA, OBC, NBC, CSA and CSBC compliant.
They have a 3″ (75mm) wide activation plate and are available in a number of architectural finishes including:
- Clear aluminum
- Black
- Bronze
- Blue
The switches also have a wide range of faceplate graphic options, Camden adds.
There is also an option for a built-in hands-free sensor, Lazerpoint battery power and Kinetic no-battery wireless transmitter.
The company highlights that the column push plate switches offer greater convenience, better aesthetics and a lower installation cost by providing a single activation device instead of two high/low switches, as required by a growing number of building codes.
