barox Kommunikation AG, a manufacturer of professional standard switches, PoE media converters and IP extenders, have reported their delight with the quantity and quality of visitor enquiries at the recent The Security Event (TSE), held at the NEC.

Displaying on the Advancis stand as an Advancis Premium Partner, the barox TSE demonstration revealed how the manufacturer’s range of Ethernet switch products can be easily integrated into VMS/PSIM control.

On display, showing the level of barox advanced functionality, was the RY-LPIGE-804GBTME industrial 2/3 layer 8-port 30W 802.3af-at PoE+ ethernet switch, the RY-LPITE-802GBTME 8-port 90W 802.3bt PoE ethernet switch, both with DMS management, and the PC-BTPMC101-10GE industrial 90W 802.3bt Media Converter.

Discussing the themes of visitor conversations, Rudolf Rohr, barox Co-Founder and Managing Partner reports: “TSE was a great opportunity to show our resilient and robust integrated Ethernet switch solutions. It’s clear that for the security surveillance sector, reliable, deep systems integration and dependable cyber protection are a big deal for system integrators.

“We’re now entering the beginning of a new chapter in the security domain, where surveillance solutions are no longer just about specifying separate cameras, video transmission, recording and control components; integrators now want to be confident in their choice of easy and simple product connectivity, that all work together reliably.

“To facilitate the requirement for joined-up integration, barox professional Ethernet switches, made specifically to meet the demands of heavy video applications, support integration with 10Gb uplink, up to 90W 802.3bt standard per-port PoE, a user-friendly Device Management System (DMS) and active video network monitoring. In addition, and seen as a deal breaker with most stand visitors, to support integrators with project deadlines, barox have invested heavily into stock holding, so whereas extended delivery times may be an issue with some switch manufacturers, barox hold most products in stock, ready for shipping.

“Another area of conversation was the ongoing costs of switch ownership. In this respect, integrators were pleased to learn that all barox switch products do not carry a licence fee and the device management DMS is supplied free of charge.”
