According to Barkers Fencing, for a long time LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) and B3 (SR2) palisade systems have needed high load rivets or threading the pale through the rail to withstand the rigorous LPS 1175 testing.
This has meant that the options have been a cumbersome rivet gun or a heightened risk of damaging the finish of the pale when threading the pale through the rail.
After years of development, however, Barkers has developed two fixings which fasten, tighten, secure and shear like a normal shear nut fixing.
The StronGuard SL1 and StronGuard SL2 fixings do not require specialist tooling or threading of pale into the rail – this means that no training is required.
StronGuard SL1, Barkers’ LPS 1175 A1 palisade fence, will install just like a standard palisade fence.
StronGuard SL2, Barkers’ LPS 1175 B3 (SR2) palisade fence has been on the market for a while, and this fixing is a key development in making independently tested security fencing easier and quicker to install.
“A welcome development”
Adam Savage, Marketing and Sales Director, Barkers Fencing said: “For years videos have circulated showing how easy it is to breach standard palisade by attacking the post to rail fixing.
“It’s possible to whack the M8 fixings loose with a hammer then put your arm through, undo the fixing and remove the pale, making an opening wide enough to get through.
“Whilst Barkers have been in the LPS 1175 B3 (SR2) market for a while, we are new to the LPS 1175 A1 (SR1) market and after years of testing and development, we are sure this will be a welcome development from installation teams.”
