The Keyholding Company (TKC) has officially become B Corp Certified.

The certification demonstrates that TKC has joined a global community of around 9,000 businesses dedicated to meeting high standards of environmental and social impact.

What does it mean to be B Corp Certified?

According to TKC, B Corp is a global standard for ethical business practice established by B Lab, a non-profit organisation.

Being B Corp Certified is said to represent a commitment to operating with transparency and accountability, in which businesses must balance profit with purpose.

For the security services company, this certification reflects its commitment to ethical practices, sustainability and driving positive impact within the industry.

To achieve certification, the company underwent B Lab’s B Impact Assessment which evaluates performance across five key areas:

  • Governance
  • Environment
  • Workers
  • Community
  • Customers

“Call for responsible practices”

“Our B Corp Certification highlights that the security industry can and should take ethics, sustainability and community impact seriously,” says Charlie Gordon Lennox, CEO, TKC.

“There is an increasing call for responsible practices. We want to show that it is possible to uphold high ethical standards while maintaining operational excellence.”

Maintaining B Corp Certification requires an ongoing commitment – not only do companies need to re-certify every three years, they must publish annual Impact Reports.
