Avon Protection has announced that its strategic partner, Promoteq, has secured a seven year contract from the Swedish Police Authority for its C50 protective mask and MP-PAPR Multi-Position powered air purifying respirator.

The agreement spans an initial two-year period with the possibility of five one-year extensions.

Avon Protection’s solutions

Deliveries are set to begin this year, with expected orders totalling 30,000 C50s, 900 MP-PAPRs and associated accessories over the contract’s duration.

The C50 protective mask is designed to offer protection against a range of threats, including CBRN agents, toxic industrial chemicals (TICs) and toxic industrial materials (TIMs).

Its features include a panoramic single lens visor for enhanced field of vision, a C50 filter and carrier.

Designed with wearer comfort in mind, the mask includes a front-mounted exhale valve for improved communication clarity.

The MP-PAPR is a versatile Powered Air Purifying Respirator that provides a compact and easily integrated PAPR unit. It offers cooling, reduces user burden, and minimises pulmonary stress.

Designed for flexible wear, it enhances integration while offering heightened protection levels and improved wearer comfort.

Both the C50 system and MP-PAPR are constructed from a chlorobutyl rubber and silicone blend, prioritising wearer comfort during prolonged operational periods while ensuring maximum protection.

“Mission-critical equipment”

Steve Elwell, President, Avon Protection stated: “This contract award allows us to continue our integral role in providing CBRN protective capabilities for both the Swedish Police Authority and the Swedish Defense Material Administration, to which we supply the FM54 respirator, CS-PAPR and ST54 SCBA.

We look forward to beginning deliveries of this mission-critical equipment to allow Sweden’s Police to carry out their mission safely and with confidence.”
