Gallagher Security has expanded its suite of training solutions by adding Augmented Reality Training.
The new offering – which was officially launched in Australia on 27 May 2024 – demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation whilst improving access to security training opportunities.
Augmented Reality Training
Gallagher has partnered with leading immersive training platform provider, Altoura, on the project.
According to the global security manufacturer, its first Augmented Reality Training environment is the Perimeter Fence Installer Course.
This is said to combine cutting-edge technology with Gallagher’s perimeter security solutions.
“Our foray into learning through an Augmented Reality environment will revolutionise how our Channel Partners interact with our pulsed perimeter product,” commented Kirk Jarvis, Training Solutions Engineer, Gallagher Security Australia.
“We will be taking them on an immersive adventure into all things Pulsed Perimeter, from the comfort of their office or home.
“The significant benefits to our Channel Partners include real time guidance, reduced downtime, while negating the need to travel into training facilities.”
“We set a firm foundation”
The launch builds on the release of Gallagher’s Virtual Classroom in 2023, demonstrating the company’s continued evolution in the training space.
Work began on the offering in mid-2023 and the Gallagher training team identified the Perimeter Fence Installer Course as the first to be developed.
“With the successful creation of the Pulse Perimeter Fence training in the Augmented Reality environment, we set a firm foundation for developing more AR training in Gallagher’s other training verticals,” added Bennie Pienaar, Senior Training Engineer, Gallagher Security Australia.
“The module is developed to experience practical Pulse Perimeter fence construction and configuration, while learning the Gallagher fundamentals required to build a Pulse Perimeter fence.”
“Delivering world class training”
Craig Schutte, Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific and India, Middle East and Africa, Gallagher Security concluded: “Over the past, almost two years, 1700 APAC and IMEA Channel Partners have been certified in access courses, while a smaller percentage of technicians have received perimeter product certification due to the reliance on providing physical equipment for training.
“We’re committed to improving those numbers and offering greater support and training opportunities for our Channel Partners.
“The Augmented Reality Perimeter Fence Installer Course will help us do that.
“The focus of our training team is to continue delivering world class training and workplace development opportunities that empower our Channel Partners and end users, regardless of where they are located.
“Augmented Reality Training will create increased opportunities for our Channel Partners and allow us to offer the same convenience as online and virtual classroom training while creating a more immersive and interactive learning experience.”
Bookings are now open for the Augmented Reality Training – Perimeter Fence Installer Course across Australia, with further rollout throughout APAC and IMEA to follow.
