Amthal Fire & Security has strengthened security and fire safety at a specialist sign-language school.

The company also helped with the coordination of the donation of essential furniture and supplies to support the launch of a new teaching block.

The new block has six classrooms and a sixth-form area allowing the school to teach from nursey age to sixth form age for the first time.

The Heathlands School

Heathlands School, based in St Albans, is one of the largest specialist schools for deaf children in the UK, providing outstanding education since 1975 and teaches from nursery age to sixth form.

The school features day and weekly boarding options as well as specialised training facilities and a British Sign Language Training Centre.

To maintain a secure school environment, Amthal Fire & Security has installed dedicated access control, integrated CCTV and a fire alarm to the new extension.

This comprehensive security and life safety solution is to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors.

“A comfortable and inspiring space for our students”

Carol Bush, School Business Manager, Heathlands School commented: “We are truly thankful to Amthal for not only providing our site with professional security solutions but also helping us transform our new block into a comfortable and inspiring space for our students.

“Amthal’s continued support over our long-term partnership has been invaluable and their latest contribution of furniture and supplies, combined with a tailored security setup will make a remarkable difference to our school community for years to come.”

Tailoring products to unique needs

Amthal tailored the security setup to meet the specific needs of a specialist school for deaf children by working closely with Heathlands School.

After understanding the unique requirements, Amthal was able to deliver an efficient solution to complement the learning environment while offering maximum protection.

Amthal was also able to donate essential furniture and supplies from a former office provider, helping to create a safe and enriching space for all students.

“Provide a solution that fully supports their needs”

David Williamson, Sales Manager, Amthal Fire & Security added: “We are committed to working closely with our customers to truly understand the specific requirements of their unique environments and this project with Heathlands School is a perfect example.

“By evolving our security and fire safety provisions alongside the school’s growth, we’ve been able to provide a solution that fully supports their needs.

“It’s an honour to not only contribute to the security of their new block but also to make a donation that supports their outstanding work in educating and empowering deaf students.”

He concluded: “Supporting Heathlands aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re proud to contribute to their vision.”
