acre security has released a new report detailing the latest trends in visitor management systems.
The research, conducted in partnership with Censuswide, sheds light on the adoption of these systems in crucial industries like finance and pharmaceuticals.
Prioritising data privacy and security
The global market for visitor management systems was valued at US $1.43b in 2023 and is projected to reach $3.47b by 2032.
This growth is driven by various factors reflecting the changing needs and challenges across industries.
According to acre security, companies are increasingly opting for customisable solutions to tailor systems according to their specific requirements, aiming for better control over security measures.
Moreover, there is a growing emphasis on streamlining check-in processes for efficiency and enhancing the visitor experience.
With rising concerns about data breaches, industries are also prioritising data privacy and security.
Key findings from acre security’s report
- Sector variance in adoption: The report highlights differing adoption rates between the pharmaceutical and finance sectors. While 66% of pharmaceutical companies acknowledge the importance of visitor management systems, only 23% utilise cloud-based solutions. In contrast, 38% of financial service firms have adopted cloud-based systems, indicating a technology adoption gap
- Challenges and perceptions: Over one-third of pharmaceutical companies express reservations about cloud-based visitor management due to concerns about impersonality, high costs and complexity. This underscores broader industry challenges in understanding the value and functionality of such systems
- Standardisation vs customisation: There is a growing inclination towards standardisation, particularly among larger organisations managing numerous visitors across multiple sites. Among these organisations, 44% prioritise standardisation in their cloud-based visitor management platforms
- Industry-specific priorities: In the financial services sector, 41% of banking firms equally prioritise compliance and enhancing the visitor experience. On the other hand, insurance companies place a higher emphasis on improving the visitor experience and ensuring standardisation across their operations
“Equipping organisations with the necessary insights”
Don Joos, CEO, acre security commented: “This research highlights the crucial balance organisations require to maintain the balance between regulatory requirements and boosting operational efficiency.
“Cloud-based visitor management systems are pivotal in improving visitor experiences and ensuring regulatory compliance.
“But despite these advantages, a significant knowledge gap exists regarding their full potential.
“As industry leaders, we are dedicated to closing this gap, equipping organisations with the necessary insights and tools to fully utilise these innovative systems.”
