Looking-ahead-to-2026-with-Pedro-Sá,-PS-Consulting

As part of an online miniseries, Pedro Sá, Founder of PS Consulting discusses his industry predictions for 2026.

Can you tell me a bit about yourself, your job role and how long you have been at the company?

My name is Pedro Sá, Founder of PS Consulting. I am an Executive with broad expertise in Security, Intelligence and Operations Management for critical infrastructure, multinational corporations and high-impact events.

Guest speaker at major events such as LAAD, ISC West, ISC Brazil, ISC East and Intersec Dubai.

After 15 years working in global companies, for the past three years I have been the Founder of PS Consulting, my own company dedicated to providing intelligence and insights about businesses, markets and industries worldwide.

Author of “The Way of Money”, a book that presents predictions for the coming years in business and markets.

What are some of the key trends and predictions you think we will see in the security industry in 2026?

Scalability and Optimisation of AI: Today, AI can easily be found in cameras. Basically, every camera brand offers some type of AI function in its products.

However, I believe that the use of AI will scale to other devices with greater intensity: servers, VMS, ACS, turnstiles, fences, barrier gates… everywhere in security.

Moreover, I believe that AI will become more than a simple analytic system. It will be smarter and better able to support complex security operations with predictive data, generative language and advanced capabilities for processing and analysing scenes where the technology is installed.

Greater demand for highly qualified professionals in the security industry: For many years, the security industry accepted basic and intermediate personal qualifications.

Guards, CCTV operators and operational agents often shared a common educational background. I believe that this era is over!

With the growth of advanced technology in the security industry, increasingly qualified professionals will be needed to develop, manage and operate it.

The obligation of strong processes: Day after day, the world is changing. Facing these changes, the security industry must remain strong to move forward with consistency, sustainability and control.

I believe that rules and processes are the guardians that keep this path clearly defined in such a dynamic and unstable world.

What is one piece of advice you would give organisations and professionals as they head into 2026?

As Sun Tzu said: “Opportunities multiply as they are seized.” We are facing a turning point in 2026 and we must be prepared to identify where the opportunities lie and position ourselves to seize them.

By doing so, we can use this moment to deliver a more secure world for our organisations, teams, families and communities.
